Initial Ideas and Mock Ups

Now I am at the stage of creating my own music magazine ideas, there are many different features I must first think about in which to create my first idea.

Mass Head Ideas

First of all, I must decide what I want my music magazine should be called. To get an idea for my mass head, I decided to go on http://thesaurus.com/ and put in words to do with music and indie culture in which to get an idea for my magazine.

After researching ideas for my mass head, I decided to go with the name Bop. The reason for this is because I felt that due to the fact that my magazine is a music magazine, I wanted my mass head to include a musical element as apposed to an indie type name. Additionally, I am planning on having an indie styled photo shot for my front main image. Also, I think a lot could be done with the name, text style wise and can also, due to the shortness of the name be added throughout the magazine.




Font Styles


When making a mass head, the font I believe is very important. I need my font to fit into my stylistic of music that the magazine is based around with the addition of standing out to my audience. To create a mass head in different style font, I decided to go onto http://www.dafont.com/ and research different font styles.

Indie Flower - I like this font because by the looks of the font itself, it's plain, simple and because of this, many things can easily be done to make it more eye catching; changing the font colour, boldness, italics, etc.

 Indie Star -  I like this font because; a.) the boldness of the font, I feel it really makes it stand out, b.) the stars that can be added to the end of the text, I think they are very cute and add to the boldness of the text.

Air - I like this font because I feel that it is a very modern and futuristic. I think it would really stand out as text for my masshead because of the contrast betweem the music that the magazine is styled on and the music that this style of font would stereotpically be included on (pop, R&B)
